Inclusive Playground Ribbon Cutting at Leighton Elementary School in Aurora, OH

On Friday, November 1st, Good Nature Therapy Services attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Leighton Elementary in Aurora, Ohio, to celebrate the opening of their new inclusive playground.

Ribbon Cutting

This playground has been a labor of love for many members of the city of Aurora and the brainchild of Alisa Deininger, Occupational Therapist for Aurora Schools.

Accessible We Go Round

We were thrilled to be able to attend and support everyone in the community who worked so hard to make the playground a reality. At Good Nature Therapy Services, it’s our mission to embrace inclusivity and accessibility, and we are honored to be a part of a community with similar values.

Mike Maglionico

Mayor Womer Benjamin, along with the principal of Leighton, Michelle Nizen; the Superintendent of Aurora Schools, Michael Roberto; and the Special Services Director, Mike Maglionico, all spoke at the ribbon cutting as well as several students who shared their feelings about how the inclusive playground gives every child the opportunity to play with fellow students.

Principal Nizen shared a perfect sentiment - “As a community, we value every child (when equipment is accessible)..differences fade, and friendships develop”.

We are so excited to be a part of this community and honored to support their mission to increase accessibility and inclusion for all children!
