Our Core Values

At Good Nature Therapy, our work is rooted in honest, down-to-earth solutions

that work for families and bring out the best in kids

NATURE IS AN ESSENTIAL INGREDIENT FOR CHILDHOOD

Every child — every human — fundamentally needs time in nature for growth and happiness. That’s why we’re dedicated to providing access to nature experiences so children and families in NE Ohio can connect with nature and each other.

EVERY CHILD DESERVES TO FEEL SUCCESSFUL AND CELEBRATED FOR WHO THEY ARE

Too many kids are reminded daily of their struggles. At Good Nature Therapy Services, we celebrate the awesomeness of every child and provide opportunities for them to feel successful while making progress towards goals that they and their family find meaningful.

PARENTING IS DIFFICULT, BUT IT IS WORTH THE INVESTMENT TO GET IT RIGHT

We know parents are doing the best they can and absolutely need community and support to do the challenging work it takes to parent.

NATURE LIGHTENS THE LOAD

When you’re immersed in nature, time flies, social interactions flow, and moving your body feels natural. Nature just makes everything easier! Whether a therapy session or a family hike in the woods, your child craves learning with their toes in the dirt and the warm sunshine on their face.

OT CAN HELP

Pediatric occupational therapy or OT for short, helps children develop fine and gross motor skills, coordination, strength, sensory processing, mindfulness, executive functioning, visual perceptual, visual motor and social skills while increasing participation, confidence and feelings of fulfillment in their daily lives at home and at school.

About Rebecca Waud

I’m Rebecca, the owner and occupational therapist who provides your access into the absolute glory of learning through nature experiences.

I know you’re prepared to move mountains to understand and support your child — and I want to help you do just that without squeezing yourself dry. As a seasoned pediatric occupational therapist, I’m a pro at helping kids build essential social, emotional, and physical skills.

But it’s when I took my sessions into nature that I unlocked the secret to success. Instantly, I noticed kids were calmer, mastering foundational skills with ease, and living joyfully in their experiences as a child, family member, friend and student.

I graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science and Master of Occupational Therapy. I have worked as an OT for over 13 years in inpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing, early intervention, outpatient using hippotherapy (OT with horses!) and schools. I have made it my mission to get people outside in every setting, as much as possible!  Whether its with the children I work with or my own children, time in nature is always valuable time.
